CakeFest 2011, Manchester, UK.. Its going to be awesome!

We've been working long and hard to get CakeFest 2011 organised and ready to rock.

This year we are taking the conference "across the pond" to the UK, and we've got a huge conference planned. This year will feature two streams for both the workshops and for the conference itself. This allows is to deliver a much more diverse range of content, and to offer educational environments that are more adaptable to serivce the needs of our attendees.

With the two streams, we will be able to accept more talk submissions. CakeFest 2010 last year saw an avalanche of submissions, and we were forced to decline a large amount of them. This year we're going to see more talks, and more content for all the attendees.

The workshops this year are being formalised by the Cake Software Foundation, Inc. All of those that attend the workshops will receive a training certificate. This does not qualify as "certification" from the Cake Software Foundation for CakePHP, but shows that you have undertaken a formal training session on CakePHP from the core development team. We'll release some more information about certification possibilities shortly.

We've secured a beautiful conference space at the Manchester Conference Centre, and we're really excited to have partnered with the events team there to provide a low cost, affordable event and accommodation, as well as good hours on the facilities to be able to use the space for entertainment.

The venue is in a beautiful location, with plenty of sights and spots to visit nearby. Boredom simply won't be possible.

Stay tuned for more updates on CakeFest 2011!
