Be a Speaker

Proposals are being accepted for 45 minute workshops / lectures dedicated to CakePHP core or derivative technologies.

Preference will be given to proposals that address some of CakePHP 1.2 latest features, but special consideration will be given to topics which are of general interest for the CakePHP developer's community.

Selected presenters may attend CakeFest at no charge and will be rewarded with a payment to cover some of their travelling expenses.

Things to consider before submitting a proposal

• Be creative! Participants want to hear about real-world scenarios using CakePHP, about ways they can be more productive, or write better code. They want to learn about the framework and how it can help them build robust applications. Please submit original session and tutorial ideas that focus on hands-on instruction and real-world examples.
• Be descriptive! Include in your proposal as much detail about the planned presentation as possible. The more we know about what you plan to present, the better.
• Be specific! Proposals which are vague or cover too much material are unlikely to be accepted. If you think your proposal covers too much of a topic, consider submitting two proposals which split the material into different sessions.

Important Deadlines

• Proposal submission: all proposals should be submitted by midnight (EST) September 15, 2008 or they won't be considered.
• Submitting session details: after you have submitted your proposal you have until midnight (EST) October 15, 2008 to submit your presentation files, tutorial materials, and speaker biography.
• Notification of acceptance: those speakers that have proposals which were accepted will be notified by midnight (EST) October 30, 2008, and will then receive additional organization details.
